416banshee wrote on Feb 16 Hi Folks I'm a Canadian aviation historical researcher ( a past member of 400 Squadron) and am currently involved with an air force project about 400 Squadron. This squadron was formed in 1932 (in Toronto) and is still active - it is their 80th annivesray this year. They have, so far, 41 Commanding Officers, however, 22 are deceased. Post-war, the squadron was in Toronto until 1996 when it moved to Borden. CO 16 (1951- 1952) was Wing Commander A.E. (Al) Fleming .- he is deceased but I have no other information. My job is to find a family contact. Thanks Carl |

ckayaker wrote on Jan 24 Hi; My name is Don Flemming. I've been researching the family name for a number of years but just recently stumbled onto your site. I have managed to trace my ancestry back to Londonderry, Northern Ireland. His name was James Flemming and he came over on the ship Hopewell in 1761 to Nova Scotia, Canada at the age of 20. I'm trying to make that leap across the pond and was hoping this site might be able to help. Don Ottawa, Ontario, Canada |

donlands wrote on Sep 15, '11 Hello Janet I've just come across your site while checking out my father - Canadian Captain A Lloyd Fleming, Royal Flying Corps WWI. My Canadian family emigrated from Drumore (County Tyrone) to Canada by ship in 1847 and settled in Toronto - where we still have a good presence. I was a member of a Fleming DNA group run by a woman in New Zealand, but it has packed in now. Flemings went from the Glasgow region of Scotland to Ireland (British Settlement) and New Zealand. I am now "86" and living in London. "Jason" Fleming from Wesern Canada knows a lot about our Canadian family - he is a "many times removed" or distant cousin of mine. Many greetings.
